Be Careful What You Say

Did you know that the words you speak have power not only here on earth but also in Heaven?  God created the world by speaking it into existence (Hebrews 11:3). The words you speak have the power to create and destroy.  Think about it.  Have you ever said, “I never win anything” or “Nothing ever goes my way”?  Do you know that you are setting the atmosphere for things to keep going left when you want them to go right and for there to be a glitch in your plan?  Proverbs 18:21 tells us, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue” (NKJV).  Knowing that your tongue can essentially make or break according to the word of God, you now must transform your thinking in such a way that what you take in, i.e. music, movies, conversations, negative self- talk, etc. all plays a role in the way you speak.

The first time I learned about Matthew 12:36, “But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give an account of it in the Day of Judgment” (NKJV), I was concerned about my salvation then I remembered my God is a God of second chances.  Knowing the magnitude of the power encased in my words I was then challenged to change my outlook on life.  It is imperative that as you move on from reading this blog that you consider the path your life is on and if you are, ready to deviate and bring life into your journey and do away with the dead.  Meaning, speak your world into existence.  Speak with faith and trust in your situation.  Demand and declare that your life will get better, your health will line up, your children will obey, that doors will open all the while knowing that all things are working together for your good.

In closing, be mindful of the words you speak because the power in your tongue can either tear apart your world or build it up. You are being held accountable for the words you speak and will have to answer for them on the day of judgment.  Sticks and stones will break your bones and words can hurt you.
